There is girl NO action in Olongapo... If you want girls you have to go to Subic. Even in Subic the action is poor. Stick with Angeles City if you're in this part of Luzon... (prog)

I totally agree with prog, there is no action in olongapo city, you go to barrangay barretto in the nearby town of subic.Gordon chased them out of olongapo into subic.but prog there is limited action in subic, was just there last week passing through, one of the resorts there in subic gave me a consultancy contract.regards

    cebu local,

That's what I meant about Subic - there are some bars in Barrio Barreta but the girls are pretty scanky (IMHO). If you're in Subic, looking for girls, you might as well make the 3 hours trip to Angeles City... (prog)

What a flippin' disappointment. I was in Olongapo (actually lived there for about 6 months) in '73. It was every young man's dream. I frequent the California board and just meandered over here to check it out. I'm so disillusioned! Oh well, it was GREAT when I was there. How does Angeles City now compare to 'Po city in the '70's?

All, agree with what everyone says about O'Pole and BBaretta. I used to run the San Miguel-BB-Olongapo in the late 60's and all was great-- BB was better known those days as the BJ place. Olongapo was great if you knew where to go, what the best bars were etc. To long to explain in this posting-- was a good time though. I stopped in there last year as I had a friend who was a good friend with one of the owners of a bar in BB. Basically a waste of time, the girls only looked better after mixing alot of SM and rum shots. A couple so so girls but most would not be able to get jobs in AC. I noticed a lot of retired guys that lived in the area. I only stayed a day and had to head back to Angeles. Like the others, would go down to BBaretta - White Beach only with some pretty companions from AC to enjoy the beaches only. Take at least two though. Just my two cents. Looking forward to the 1 November arrival in AC. semper fi devildog

    Spike,

As a fellow californian from the North Bay I can tell you the place in the P.I. is Angeles, far greater selection and reasonable bar fines to be found. Just got back from the P.I. did spend some time in Barretto, a few honeys are there but nothing like Angeles, how about doing some posting on the SR board now that your back.

    No girls in Olongopo??? Really?

I was there overnight (Sat>Sun) back in Feb or maybe early March, "with the family". I'm not exactly sure of the location, but you come down from the hills (coming from Manila) and there's a bunch of beachfront resorts on the left and a couple of what seemed to be fairly empty bars across the street. Couldn't sleep, so took the 20 meter walk to labas sa resort at maybe 1:30am. I just stood there watching the passers-by for about 5 minutes and then one of the girls having a beer at the videoke-eatery right there came over to say hi. 10 minutes later she she walked over again and invited me to sit at their table with her and her friends. She told me all about her no-good husband and introduced me to her two friends were "available". Had another beer and some friendly chat until the wife woke up and came and found me (she was NOT happy). I know for *sure* play-for-pay was sitting right there, and I likely could have scored with the nice one (who wasn't "available") "for love" if I had the time and half tried. I suppose if I ever get the chance, I could call her sometime since she did give me her 2 cell numbers.

Point being, I got "found" without even trying, so what's this about no girls in Olongopo?

Just had to throw my 2 cents in so here it goes. Cant find "IT" here in Olongapo then take a 2 dollar tricycle ride to Subic City. Go to any bar, treat the dancer right and you will score immediatly. Also, Love these beaches in Beretto. Real nice time n real nice peeps. Everyone speaks English so thats a plus. Former Navy guy here so Ive been coming here since 1990.

The first time I was in Olongapo / Subic was when Marcos martial law was still in effect.

It was great. Everything shut down at midnight (or was it 1:00 am?) and the girls got really friendly (and cheap) around then. Cinderella...If they didn't get barfined before midnight they didn't get some cock shoved up their crotch.. which meant they didn't get paid.

Martial law was lifted while I was there. Some of you can probably figure my age now, which is a helluvalot more than I can say for the rest of you.

I used to volunteer to do shore patrol. A lot of guys hated this job. You had to walk from bar to bar in order to stop fights, wake up drunks, etc.

For me it was heaven. I would walk from bar to bar and I would find a sweetie and then make arrangements to meet later. At the end of my shift I'd meet her, go to her place, spend the night, (use your imagination) and then go back to the base in the morning. As ShorePatrol, I was wearing uniform. I did this three times, but the fourth time some a-hole Chief asked why I was wearing uniform and then made a fuss and even called my ship. Fortunately, the Chief on duty on my ship at the time was the Filipino cook, who I was quite friendly with. He had a wife in US as well as PI.

His admonishment: "Don't get caught again!"

Although I've been back to PI a few times, I haven't seen Olongapo / Subic since those days.

    X Man,

Did you ever know a really big shore patroler named Pete Cooper ?

Olongapo is pretty much dead. There are a couple places up in Barrio Barreto, but most of the action is up in Subic city now. But it's nothing like you remember.

I heard that President Arroyo's big new plan is to make Subic a tourist center. My Filipina said that was typical bullshit that has been said before and added that Arroyo has no money to do it. She said that what is needed is to open up the bars in Olangapo again! Easy. In Thailand that would be the first thing the smart Thais would do. Their consequent tourism numbers (20 million expected next year) compared to the Philippines speaks for itself.

    Fastpiston,

Yeah, right?! Your Filipina's assessent is better than the President's. The President just has a PhD in economics from an ivy league school. Who cares about that? Haha. Anyways, that is just her opinion. In my opinion, she is ill-informed, pessimistic and shortsighted; she's like a kid throwing a tantrum over nothing. I'm guessing she is from the sex tourism industry or nothing relating to the service or manufacturing industries; and, she feels neglected. All the economic planners including the President looks at the Olongapo area as a major economic driver since the country's GDP is directly linked to the product output of that area. If the President said that she was going to make the Subic area a tourism center, i have no reason to doubt it. Millions of dollars of capital flow in every month coming from Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and the US. As a remedy, suggest to her to take up reading newspapers as a hobby. Your Filipina should not be so pessimistic about the situation since it is NOT public money that is being used to develop these areas. The entire area is being managed by a freeport authority run as a private entreprise. She should actually welcome this announcement since general tourism also includes sex tourism.

I can understand your logic. I would have said the same as you.
I guess the Filipina I spoke to is sceptrical of politician's promises (any politician!!!) and prefers to measure track record. The lady I spoke to is actually a doctor of Phil. origin working in California. Maybe she is talking more from the US perspective where one Ivy League US President politician recently said "read my lips, no new taxes"!

I was in Subic/ Barrio Barreto 3 months ago.

There's about a dozen bars there for foreigners - and some Filipino bars that I suggest you stay away from.

Muff Divers seems to be the one with the most girls (a few 8's the rest 5's).

There's a bar called Proud Mary that had a 20 year old nude dancer that came up to me, after her dance number (I was sitting on the 2nd floor balcony sipping a cold San Miguel and watching the street and the show at the same time. Oh yeah, picture this, her old aunt was trying to sell me some chinese good luck wall hanging while this girl worked me) and proceeded to put her moves on me- "You like my dancing?" she asks. While she pulls her bikini down and looks expectantly at me. "I smiled and asked if she wanted me to feel her pussy?" since she was still sweating from her dance and there was no AC.

"No, but you can if you want to do that as you give me a tip, it's OK".
I'm a little bit mistified but thought 'What the hell" and pulled out a P20 and gave it to her. She quickly took it and rolled it up and inserted it in her pussy.

So for the next 1/2 hour I proceeded to buy her and myself a few drinks and periodically I 'tipped" her in her wet pussy (my fingers were nice and wet and smelled good as her Auntie continued to try and sell me her wall hanging) as everyone on the street could see us-
    "Gotta love the PI!".

    StormLtng,

Try putting a rolled up P20 note half way into an empty bottle of SM. Most of the girls in any of the Subic bars will willingly pull it out with their vags.

If you ever go back be careful of Wild Cherry. Many cases of the Clap contracted from there - me included! A dose can be contracted through unprotected oral.

Kinky's is another good bar, but not to everyone's liking. It's my personal favourite. Good pool table, girls aren't pushy, cheaper prices for the girls (P500) and the grog, and they let you choose the music. But, there are a few billieboys in the bar.

    Kalahari,

I'll try the bottle and P20 bill next time- ha!

Reminds me of the 'Peso Parties'- Where you would stack as many Pesos as you can in a nice stack, on the bar in front of you- The girls then stands on top of the bar and lower herself on this Peso stack and jam them into her Pussy. Of cource, she gets to keep all that she can grab- That's the fun nature of the game!

There's another good bar there like the Muff Diver bar called 'Crow Bar' (saw 1-8, 5-5's).

I forget the name of a Filipino topless bar there- Lots of 'Good Lookers' but you get lots of pressure to have a girl and buy ladies drinks.

The girls are real expensive too- If I remember they wanted P3 or P4,000. Kinda crazy when the smaller bars only want P700 or P1,000 for LT.

Personally- There's many bars there, Have a few SM's and maybe you'l find your young 'Pearl in the rough!' There's plenty there if you have enough patience to walk around and enjoy these 'Lower Class' bars!

    Peace!

    Sad to read

Wow, I was just reading different sections of the board and wandered in here. I enjoyed Olongapo in 88 - 90 several times. That place was a wonderland. I think my favorite place was T's Tavern. I guess that gives away that I was a Jarhead. There were a number of hot hot girls in there that just treated you so good. Of course, someone about .20US got seperated from your wallet. Sad to see that it is no longer that way.

    I agree...

The lack of tourism is the Philippines is very high profile right now, with lack of any tourist security and the presidential mess going on, it's no wonder no one is going to the PI.

    Economic considerations?????

    Just a few observations gentlemen:

I do not wish to start a fight but I don;t see where tourism is suffering because of this current spat with GMA and her detractors. If anything I have noticed and increase in Foreign faces, this after a four year tenure in the PI.

Someones observed that this thing in Subic is more BS, well I agree with that, while GMA may have a PHd in economics, it isn't being applied to the economy. As long as the RP has the current laws governing foreign investment, land ownership and other such restrictive measures, the economy ain't goin nowhere.

And who owns the Subic????? Mostly the big time Filipino politicians (GMA included) or the fortunate few which consist of about 400 families that own the rest of the country. And while GMA (god bless her) has gotten on the moral high horse about prostitution, it flourishes because the local mayors, Pols and cops receive more than their share of the profits from the bars, so the bars may open up again in Subic or they may grow no matter what happens to the special economic development zone.

    Cheers

    Things to do in Olangapocity

    Hi there,

Just read the few reports here from Olanagpo city. I was there last year December between christmas and new year with my expat buddy and his and my gf and I liked it very much for some reasons.

Of course, speaking bout bars and nightlife compared to AC, Olongapo is nothing compare to it.

I stayed in Arizona Hotel, room for 1500p, figured out that swagman travel is just opposite, so if you go by fly-the-bus, the bus just seems just to stop there.

For great food, speacially seafood highly recomanded, we went to Johans at Baloi beach, sit at the beach at night and enjoyed the silence. Until 2 filipino singers showed up, LOL. But it was ok, after some SM we joined them singin.

After I put my gf to sleep I went out and walk along the mainroad in olangapo city. First thing I have to say I found it very save to walk there and I also have to say no stupid comments from pinoys, specially if me and my friend were acccompanied by our gf (non working gurls! ) This is what really pi. S me off when I'm in AC. I guess its the fact that Olangapo doesnt seems to have as many as drugaddicts then as in AC, just my opinion on this.

I went to some bars, but gurls doesnt really impressed me, one bar had solodancers, didnt rember the name and that was more intersting for me, Dancers don't look bad. When I look around, I also found western females there, and asian guys, maybe some locals, cant say defenetil, cause the whole place was kinda dark, but SM was cheap I think 50 pesos. Havent asked bout BF there, but if I would be alone I would ask to take the gurl to my room.

Next day we went to Oangapocity, driving around subic free port and visiting the SUBIC ZOO (ca. 400 pesos each) for seeing the tigers. I highly recomand this trip, we had really fun. After that we went to Subic freeport and had some food and snacks and cocktails at Pier 1 (also have branch in Boracay), later on we had dinner at Joahans again.

My friend has a car, so it took us only 2 hours to go there from Angels city. Olangapo was a really nice getaway from Angels city. The city is much cleaner, less noise, you can say what you wana say about Gordon, but he really disciplined the people there, also the traffic. I noticed that, cause my friend didnt use a smuch f. Words as he does when driving in AC or Manila LOL.

I didnt went to Subic, which was 5 or 10 km to go from my place, my friend who lives in PI since 15 years says that they have also some bars there, next time I will try that and report here.

I'm sure I will do the Olangapotrip again, cause its the fastest getaway from AC and one option to go there quick by car if looking for a beach.

They also have the water park with whales, dolphins etc. But my friend saw that allready so we skip that thing.

    Happy hunting!

Warning Theft from hotel in Subic Bay

If you plan to stay in the Subic Bay area, please avoid "westbay" hotel

I stayed there in December last year and kept my money in the safetybox at the reception. When I checked out 75000 peso was missing

The hotelempoyees has spare key to the boxes and steal money from their clients at a regular basis. When I reported the theft to the police they said they could do nothing due to lack of evidence. But they did confirm that theft from safetyboxes had ocurred numerous times and that the manager is aware of this "Business". She declined any responsibility and of course refused to return the money

Security at this hotel cooperates with the staff at the frontdesk and the manager gets her share of the money stolen

Name and adress of this hotel: Westbay (formerly marmont) 15 westbay inc 15j. Montelibano Barrio Barretto Zambales Phillippines 2200 tel (047)2224628

    Subic?

This would be a very good post, but red flags are going up. Why is this your very first post? How do you know the manager is involved?

If this is a valid warning, thank you.

But, this post is also the kind of thing a competitor might do to drum up business.

Has anyone else had problems at this hotel?

    Subic Action...

    Subic:

I left the area in B.Baretto 1 week ago and the area is now dead. The local bars are now full of girls and no foreign customers. All the winter visitors tourists are back in there respective countries. The Subic bars are all dead and all the action or girls are now in B.Baretto. They will be servicing the local guys the next few months. The smart gals are looking to go back to there provinces, or they might try angelis before giving up. Things are pretty dry compared to last november!!! You may find some gal that wants a boyfrend and will stay with you just so she will not have to relocate somewhere else. You will still find plenty of action there if you are willing to travel from Manila.

    I need expertise...

    Excuse me brothers,

But I will go to a seaside with a friend after one week in Angeles. And I think it could be nice Subic Bay or Barrio Baretto.

I dont know these places. I ask:

    1. They are one near the other one? How many km? Are there trikes from one to others? Jeepneys?
    2. Better for a white beach Subic Bay or Barrio Baretto?
    3. Better for nightlife Subic Bay or Barrio Baretto?
    4. IMPORTANT: the girl-cost is like Angeles (Only barfine) or like in Manila (Barfine+tip for the girl)? How much normally?

    Thanks for the answers!

For those not familar wth the area, can you please give the precise location of Barrio Baretto.

Also, I am sure many others would be interested in the proposed comparison.

    Thank you.

Often called "Subic Bay": Subic Bay Free Port Zone, nearly no nightlife, except some KTV or Disco, "Korean/Japanese Style" with Korean/Japanese Prices. Just forget it.

Subic Port is located southwest of Luzon. It is 110 kilometers north of Manila, surrounded by Olongapo City and the towns of Subic and Morong. It is northwest of Bataan and southwest of Zambales.

There is a gate between Olongapo and Free Port. No Jeepneys allowed inside. Pinoys have to pass a checkpoint. Olongapo is a crowdy, dirty and loud city with some nightlife.

Barrio Barretto is about 15 min. by Jeepney west of Olongapo. Beach area. Some bars. Hit and Miss area. Sometimes very poor nightlife.

Another 15 min. west of Barrio: Subic City. Some bars for expats, some for Pinoys.
Different from Barrio as there are dancers (topless) allowed.

Been there around 10 times, not especially for nightlife. It's only 1 % of Angeles.

    Baretto

This area is 4-5 km from olongapo city.It has several bars where olongapo will not have dancers. There are many good hotels and places to eat here. The vast majority is Retired Americans and is a safe secure area. There is a road leading to beach front here called Baloy beach. There are many hotels here all prices and to fit any budget.

Anything you want is a trike ride away.I stayed here my last trip 6 months.Getaway hotel Baloy beach is absolute beachfront for 800-p per night.Good place good staff and 5 minutes in a trike from all the action.

1% of angeles yes but who wants all the shit angeles city has to offer. There are more than enough gals here and the attatude is 1000% better.I would find you hard pressed to find anything but a scammer from any bar in angeles city.Ithink this is where the gals learn to fuck up the guys. After they graduate they trickel out to other places to sharpen there skills. You sit in a baretto bar and talk to a gal from the province, then buy the new Manila Or Angeles gal a drink and tell me which one you want to see the next day.For me it will be the gal working in Baretto thats a local Hands Down!

    Hit um hard guys enjoy.
