"Renovierungsarbeit" That is a good one.

This was in the Geissen newspaper today:

    Giessener Zeitung vom 24/03/2004:

    Mittelhessen

    FKK-Club »Atlantis«: Ermittlungen
    wegen Menschenhandels

    Basically it says that:

"Due to trafficking in people the district attorney's office of Hanau closed Atlantis on Sunday morning. Members of a special forces (sound like a Stallone film) deployment commando and area criminal agency led the raid. The senior public prosecutor, Jost-Dietrich Ort in response to questions said that a search of the premises took place. As a result many were arrested under the following charges: Trafficking in people, pimping, and other infractions that take place in such a business. During the raid many women were taken into custody. (I am not sure if this part says that they were being held in Altantis illegally (against their will) or if they were just illegal worker. Probably the latter, but with all the talk about human trafficking, who knows. ) Clues were received that a human-trafficking operation was run out of the FKK Club. In addition the business operaters are charged with Tax-evasion and pimping. Before this past week Atlantis consistantly "gratified" a large horde of guests; in the parking lot are cars from all over Germany and neighboring countries."

If any native German speaker notice any errors in my translation, then please feel free to make corrections. It is not my mother-toungue.

Flamingo Island is already advertising that many girls from a "sunken city" are now working for them.

Also on a radio station in Frankfurt (FFH) today the mayor of Altenstadt said that he would do everything possible to keep the club closed.

Sorry to bear the bad news to all.

This is a shame. The club had a great atmosphere and no other club could match the stunning sight of walking though its door for the first time. The girls may all be found in other clubs, but unless there is something really bad that they clearly did to deserve this I worry that this could have a chilling effect on the industry by making other investors hesitant to open new clubs. Lets hope it's only temporary and that the club quickly gets back up to speed.

There are positives and negatives to anything. This Atlantis did not have the best management and that is a fact. I have personally seen people have problems with the girls that were legitimate. The management always took the girl's side, even when the guy was clearly getting ripped off. I have seen this happen to a lot of German guys, so I can imagine that a foreigner would have no chance of winning. The rooms were not well kept and for a place with the nice looking downstairs, the upstairs accomodations were shit. They charge the girls a full entry fee to work even on slow nights, making them overly agressive and afraid to lose money after having sex. They were never concerned about the health of the workers, as unfortunately this is the way the industry is now. Other places will open, other places will close. It will all be alright! Foreign sex workers and the hint that they might be working against their will is a big issue all over Europe at this time. I have been to Atlantis over 40 times since they opened and I never met a girl who seemd to be kept there against her will. This only happened to me once in over 30 years of mongering in Germany and I contacted the local police.

I agree with Catalyst. The club was the best I ever visited. If it is true, I regret that trafficking was a part of the business. However, I am glad they clean up with this.

Girls who work legally and from free will is the best for the business, the customers and the Society.

Atlantis was a peal. Hopefully it will be back. It has a good name, and after this "renovation" they might be back in business. But how many cuts can they live with before it is over and out finally.

In the meantime there are plenty other fishes in the sea.

This is just terrible news. Dedalus is absolutely right about the Finanzamt (Tax Office) in Germany. They are ruthless in going after tax evaders. If any charges have been filed against the management / owners of Atlantis for tax evasion, then the forecast is gloomy.

Could our local colleagues in Germany keep us updated with developments in Altenstadt? Also, information on where ex-Atlantic stars are currenty working would be useful.

Now, I am of to drown my sorrows!

    Cheers!

for sure it's a shame but I noticed in the last times an Atlantis decline towards a FKK World raise
who knows both clubs understands very well that the Atlantis squad in a great facility like World might be a real PARADISE on earth...

    Moonlight Bob,

BHH is Burgholzhausen, i.e. Oase. Palace was Paradies previously, you have reports on it in the "Other FKK" section (in particular by Dedalus )

Anybody else find it interesting that the mayor of Altenstadt would say that he hopes to keep it closed? That has got to be the most profitable business in the whole city, the hotels get business because of it.

Daedelus or others, how did the house make cash from the girls? Did they charge the girls to come in or what? I couldn't figure it out while I was there.

The girls paid the same entry fee you do to enter the club. At PHG in Oedt they pay half the normal entry fee. Three girls at Atlantis told me the same thing, so I think it is accurate. The owner of PHG told me the other information, so I'm not sure of the accuracy.

I remember another fine club, Babylon, got closed because of some shady things going on over there, but then they reopened. I really doubt Atlantis will stay shut down for good, and you're right that is probably the most profitable business in that entire city.

All clubs charge the guests and entrances fee. This includes the girls. Usually the girls have to pay between 80-90 Euros entrance fee and more per day if they are living at the club. Most clubs have a separate area where the girls can sleep. BHH use to charge the girls an extra 25 if they did not dance. Not doubt there are other hidden charges that we do not hear about.

Technically the girls are also "guests", and what happens between a male guest and a female guest is their business. The girls who are selling sex have to be registered and have work permission.

You are right about Atlantis being an "important busiess" in Altenstadt and you can bet that there are a few restaurants and hotels that well feel a bite if Atlantis stays closed.

Yesterday the "Bild Zeitung" also had a notice about the raid and the arrests and charges that were made. There was another story in the Geissen paper. The charges are serious and if Atlantis does reopen it will likely be with new managment.

Tax evasion and human-trafficking are serious issues and if the owner is found guilty, then he will do time. Considering the nature of the charges, I am not suprised that the mayor has taken such a stance. If he really means what he says is another matter.

If one calls Atlantis now (someone is now manning the phones) then they will tell you that if all goes well then they are planning to reopen next week. This seems to me to be a bit optimistic, but who knows.

I have a good friend in the German tax inspectorate (unfortunately not Frankfurt area). He is trying to find out if it tax offences they are after them for. If it is tax, then it is the owners and maybe managers they are going for, not the business as such. The tax authorities have no moral or political agenda. Tax income is tax income, and Atlantis would continue to be welcome at the cash desk.

Definitive Entrance fees for the girls:

    Atlantis, Oase, World
65€/Day + 15€ per day if they sleep there. No Other hidden charges.

    PHG & Wildenrath
75€/Week no charge for sleeping there. No hidden charges.

Other clubs have complicated or simple systems, but all are similar.

    Peter,

If these prices are correct, then BHH has lowered them sometime in the last few years. There were a few top acts that told me the main reason that they left BHH was that they saved a bit on the entrance fee and that they did not have to dance (or pay not to dance).

    Dedalus,

3 Years ago Atlantis and World did not exist, so BHH could dictate to the girls. In the meantime it is a transparent business and the girls have worked at many different clubs. Clubs know they stand and fall with the quality of the talent they can hold, so they cannot have significantly higher charges than the other clubs.

Sometimes the diffuculty to enforce penalties or new policies as girls will simply switch clubs can mean a club is not as tight and well run as they used to be.

    CBGBConnisur,

Yes, Babylon reopened after an extended closing. I think I read that it was because an underage girls was discovered working there. But the club was never quite the same afterwards.

Good point. I have not been to Oase in quite some time so it is hard for me to comment on this "leveling effect" that you describe. However it makes perfect sense.

I first visited that club after the first closing when they got into trouble in 2001 and I thought the women there were first rate in quality.

When I went to Babylon some time after the closing the food was not quite as good as I had remembered, there were no more alcoholic beers, and I think there weren't quite as many girls (the most important part) although I have to admit that it wasn't bad.

I made my comment based more on reports that I saw on this board and one other right after the reopening and from the fact that on these boards there are few reports on Babylon nowadays.

I sincerely doubt that Atlantis will be closed permanently, it is probably the only profitable business in town and a source of tax revenue. Most likely it will reopen with new management. Whatever the mayor of the town said, there is a saying "Money talks and Bullshit walks." Money will always do the talking. I'll wager that the club will reopen in a few months.

    What's wrong with this picture???

"In addition the business operaters are charged with Tax-evasion..."

"...it is probably the only profitable business in town and a source of tax revenue."

What's the wager?? I might want some of that action.

It seems to be, that the Atlantis will be closed for a long time. But there are plenty of alternatives. For example the Oase at Burgholzhausen or the Palace at Frankfurt. Local newspapers talk about different things that make a fast reopening of Atlanis imposible.

See the links for the other clubs at my website www.jako.tk

Well at least I tried Atlantis on the very last day it was open.

Hooked up with a tall sexy blonde Nadine from the Ukraine, about 5ft 9in tall without heels, waist length hair measures 36c/d, 25, 35. best guestimates. Very well recommended CIM and unrushed service. Seems very popular, always hangs around at the entrance by the right hand side of the bar.

Most girls are 6/7's, some 8's, one or two monsters appeared late in the evening.

Stayed at a pleasant hotel Moenchof in Altenstadt but I guess generally businesses will fall a little until Atlantis re-opens.

For anyone trying to take the train from Frankfurt over weekends, forget it. The journey takes 1.5 hrs. Best way is to hire a car, which takes about 30 minutes, and not that difficult to find. Many major car firms at the Hauptbanhof in Franfurt. Try to refule on dropoff otherwise they will sting you with 40 euro fee on top. Also watch out for the speed cameras at the entrance approaching Nidderau town.

It seems many members met up during the weekend of the 21st, so shame I did not meet up with any of you guys.

I plan on being in Frankfurt on April 18. I was wondering if anyone was interested in checking out the FKKs around Frankfurt (e.g., Palace, Oase). If so, please send me a message.

Any new news on Atlantis? Have they re-opened? There was a Cuban girl named, Adrienna, who worked on Sundays. She is about 5'8", 34-23-34; short brown hair. Has anyone seen her at the other clubs, since Atlantis closed down?

    Thanks

    Gentlemen,

Please advise where I should go if I have two days free in Germany. I'm interested in quality and was spoilt by FKK Atlantis. Now that it's closed PLEASE advise where one can find this raunchiness as well as variaty. Location is not important.

    Thanks

The rumours from girls and regulars seem still to be that Atlantis will be down for some time. And it's sending nerves round the other clubs- I was at one when rumours started about police cars and girls had to leave suddenly. Basically it seems to be that all the girls have a man taking care of them - this may be ok if the man is good but if he's a bad man then the girls can have a bad time. I'm not suggesting that some girls are in FKK against their will so it's not people-trafficking, but it can be exploitative and to my minnd abusive. And it's this aspect which means the Police have something to crack down on if they can get any evidence . Anyway that's my understanding and it makes sense of some behaviour I've seen by some girls (a small minority) in FKKs. So it may not all be as squeaky clean as it looks

That is an interesting comment. Could you possibly be a little more specific about "some of the behaviour I've seen by some of the girls..." I have no idea what you are referring to in terms of behaviour.

    Thanks.

I've PMed you with a little more of my thoughts. I can't be specific as it could affect individuals but for the forum generally I can say that sometimes the girls aren't always completely free agents. They may not be allowed to met outside the premises, or have any telephone numbers etc, and messages may be intercepted. Normally this could be appropriate since there must be boundaries to the job and such contact is not usually a good idea - but sometimes the girls aren't given the option of setting the boundaries themselves. I think this is relatively rare but it's hard to judge. Similarly when I get comments about the girls being watched then I think they mean their minder. It's hard to be explicit. And I think it's only a small minority - usually where there is some doubt about the girl's papers etc.
Hope this helps alittle bit. Sorry to be so mysterious

It looks like Atlantis will stay closed for good - or at least a long time. The reasons lie in local politics, double morality and the specific legal situation in Germany.

    A (simplified) explanation:

While brothels are technically legal in Germany, they require like every other business a variety of permits and licenses: A building permit for the building they are in specific to the purpose of the business, restaurant and liquror permit if serving food and drinks, compliance with fire codes etc. etc - just to name a few. No small town mayor who even thinks about getting reelected will issue these permits, if he officially knows a brothel is planned, and if he finds any legal reason to deny them.

For that reason, Atlantis was not licensed as a brothel, but as a "sauna and wellness center". The city hall could claim that the resulting, more intimate contacts between it's guests - consenting adults - were not of the city's concern, and tolerate them, collect taxes, and be happy that a lot of other businesses (hotels, caterers, etc) were doing well.

Then, the police raid happened. Several people were arrested, and charges of (among others) pimping, human trafficking, tax evasion (several million €), illegal employment of foreigners- up and down the German penal code - pressed. Among those arrested was a police officer who is charged with giving information to Atlantis' management about intended checks by the authorities. If these charges lead to convictions, the defendants will serve several years. Also, several (eastern european) girls were arrested without proper visas and work permits, and evicted from Germany.

Now, Atlantis is publicly linked with severe criminal charges and illigal immigration. The city government just cannot go back to the tolerant attitude of former times. Even if the place reopens (maybe following a court order), it might well be closed again for violation of safety, building, fire, hygienig.... or whatever regulations.

    I hope that helps,

    El Alemán
